Today is a no-brainer.
Today I'm grateful for Shabbos. I seriously don't know what I'd do without it. After crazy day after crazy day, by the end of the week we need to relax and recharge. Especially here in Israel where Sunday is a regular work and school day, by the end of the week we're feeling the burn.
For those of you who've never experienced a Shabbos, it may seem boring. What? No driving? No computers? No TV? No going out?
But the beauty of Shabbos is that it allows us one day a week to sit back and do...nothing. Nothing but rest, connect with our families and with G-d. It's not only a beautiful thing, but a necessary one!
So, put away your hammer, your iPhone, your Android, your Blackberry, your iPad and your Galaxy, there's nothing left to do, but chill with your kids and your Creator.
Shabbat Shalom from the Holy Land!

Nicely crafted, cousin! I am grateful for my ability to see today. Thank you to HKBH!
I'm glad it recharges you. I have the opposite reaction, though. While I observe Shabbat and really relish the time I have with the whole family (as opposed to parts of the family here and there like during the week) it is so incredible hard for me to not "do". Maybe because I am more wired to work than to sit and read or learn, I find Shabbat a struggle every week. If I am sitting in a room, I suddenly become aware of all the things that I want to fix in it. I'll notice places that need another coat of paint or a picture that I didn't mat quite right, on and on. And then the creative juices start flowing and I want to start a new project but I can't and I find myself making a mental list of all the things I have to do after Shabbs. Ugh! I wish I could soak it up like you do!
I DO hear that EEC. But I'm guessing it's an actual COMMANDment because it's not easy.
I do think it's crucial though, and without it we'd be in trouble.
I'm sounding like I only talk in sentence fragments because I'm 20 min from candle lighting, so I'm tense. But really, when I can write more than 3 words at a time I will have more to say on the topic :)
